Riot police clash with protesters, deploy tear gas at demonstration in central Paris

JUST IN: French riot police have deployed tear gas on protesters who gathered at the Place de la Bastille in central Paris after preliminary results of the first round of the presidential election were announced.
Protests, violence and vandalism flared up in Paris as results of the first round of the tight presidential race were being counted, footage captured by RT’s Ruptly agency shows. Disillusioned French youth protested what many of them see as a political “masquerade.”
